Alabama coach Nick Saban said that 23 newcomers had enrolled in classes for the first time this month. With those 23 joining two players who enrolled in January and "back count" for 2007 — kicker Corey Smith and wide receiver Chris Jackson — that means 25 of the 32 players in Alabama's 2008 signing class are present and accounted for.
But because Smith and Jackson enrolled early, that leaves two slots available for the seven who have yet to enroll ... except that the 23 that are currently in school might not necessarily be part of the 25 that start practice in August.
