Just got back from a late-night supper at IHOP. Ran into former Bama defensive coordinator Carl Torbush and his son there. Talked to him briefly. He said he's on Dan Mullen's staff now at Mississippi State and is in T-Town recruiting. Don't know if he found any blue-chip prospects at IHOP or not. Anyway, he told me to tell Bama to leave some good recruits for the Bulldogs. That ain't happening.
Good guy, except for the fact, of course, he's against Bama now. I remember how Saban and WR Josh Reed lit up his Bama D in 2001 and there was question whether or not Torbush would even be retained in '02. He was, and he did a good job with the Bama D that second season.
I remember how he wanted the Bama HC coach job real bad after Fran bolted.
