It may not be considered as huge as a traditional rivalry as Alabama-Auburn and Alabama-Tennessee, but when it comes to huge stakes, Alabama-LSU is quickly becoming the new standard.

It's been it's own mini-playoff game of sorts for an SEC Western Division championship lately, and the way things are looking on the recruiting trail, it's going to continue to be that way for a while.

As hard as Nick Saban and the Alabama players have tried not to talk about it, what's riding on the table for the Tide today is simple: Win and you're Atlanta-bound for the second-straight year and still on course to end a 17-year national championship drought.

Lose and you're gonna need help -- to get to Atlanta and to get to the BCS title game.

An LSU win puts the one-loss Tigers in the driver's seat for the SEC West title and rekindles its hopes for a BCS championship game berth.
