Heavy rains in the Tuscaloosa area caused the cancellation of Friday's baseball series-opener between Alabama and Illinois-Chicago at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The series, originally scheduled for four games, has now been reduced to three. Alabama (3-2) and UIC (0-4) will play a doubleheader beginning at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, with a single game set for 12:35 p.m.

Due to the Flames' travel schedule, Friday's game could not be made up later in the weekend. A make-up game for the Crimson Tide will be announced at a later date.
