Alabama picked up its third commitment in six days when The Woodlands (Texas) offensive lineman Chad Lindsay picked the Crimson Tide over LSU.
There was talk that Lindsay would make his final decision during the weekend and on Monday, he called Bama head coach Nick Saban and let him know of his plans.

It's a big deal for the Tide to beat the Tigers on a Texas prospect. LSU has signed more than its share of top-flight talent from the Lone Star state in recent years, including 2009 Under Armour All-Americans Craig Loston and Russell Shepard. Alabama last signed a player from Texas in the 2008 class when it landed Damion Square from Houston Yates. The Tide tends to recruit more in the Southeastern Conference states and lands players in Alabama and the surrounding states including Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Texas is a untapped resource for most of the SEC West schools, except LSU and Arkansas, which recruits the state heavily. There are plenty of good players and the distance is not as big of a challenge as it is for say an SEC East program to come in and sign a player. That being said, every school in the league has signed at least one Texas prospect during the past five recruiting cycles.

More offers for Vogler
Tight end Brian Vogler (Columbus, Ga./Brookstone) picked up two more scholarship offers recently, making the 6-foot-7 standout one of the prospects at his position in the country. Vogler is still wide open, with a lean to the SEC programs. Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and LSU are all recruiting him hard.
