Not sure if it's harder to contain Jay Rome (Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta) or collect info on him.

What is known about this Under Armour All-America tight end is that he's very, very good and every school wants him -- including Alabama.

First-year Valdosta head coach Rance Gillespie told CrimsonConfidential.com Thursday afternoon that Alabama is one of the schools that have offered the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Rome.

Gillespie said he has spoken with Alabama head coach Nick Saban regarding Rome but declined to comment on how that conversation went. Gillespie did say that Rome, who recently attended Florida's Junior Day, will not be attending Alabama's second Junior Day this weekend because of basketball. 

So who are some of the other schools that have offered?

"You name it," the coach said.
