Vinnie Sunseri, a 6 foot, 205 pound linebacker prospect from Marvin Ridge High School near Charlotte, North Carolina has seen some tremendous progress in his junior year. Crimson Confidential was able to speak with Marvin Ridge head coach Scott Chadwick about his prized player, 2011 standout Vinnie Sunseri.

In nine ballgames, Vinnie’s play has been nothing short of remarkable.

“Vinnie is our best defensive player, he has picked up the leadership duties for a team that lost 29 seniors from last year.”

Season Stats – 70 Tackles, 15 TFL, 5 interceptions, 2 recovered fumbles

“Vinnie is the kind of kid that everybody follows, he is one of the best natural leaders I have ever coached before.”

Sunseri is also coming off of one of his best games of the year.

“To say the least, Vinnie had a huge game for us last week. He had 11 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery, two carries for 17 yards (TD), one reception for a 22 yard score, and if that wasn’t enough, he recovered the onside kick that eventually won the game for Marvin Ridge 24-20.”

Crimson Confidential talked with Vinnie this summer about his game, his expectations, and the schools giving him attention.
