Alabama (4-2) also got a solo home run from Alex Kubal in the seventh, backing a strong outing by starting pitcher Austin Hyatt (2-0). The senior right-hander worked seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five.

Right-hander Austin Evans worked 1 1/3 innings in relief for the Tide, then Jimmy Nelson got the final two outs with two runners on for his second save. Chris Kovacevich (0-2) took the loss for the Flames, who fell to 0-5.
